Three days after my 30th birthday, I was laid off. And now, 31 is coming around the corner.
When I turned 30, I still had a government job. I continued to work in a 9-5 system. My life was comfortable and stable. Then three days later, my life flipped.
Everything Changed
No more steady paycheck. No more career. No more morning check-ins. No one to speak to at 9AM. And boy did I miss hearing a familiar voice in the morning.
The system that I believed in for so long showed me a different reality: that nothing ever stays the same and the only thing that's constant is change.
Taking Back Control
Starting my own business came out of a decision to take back my life. To take back my passions. My adventures. And create the community I wanted to be a part of.
I was forced out but chose to not re-enter.
Blessings in Disguise
Sometimes the biggest blessings come out of our worst scenarios. That's exactly what happened here. What felt like the end of everything became the start of something better.
When you lose what you thought was stability, you're given an opportunity to run the extra mile toward something that's truly yours.
Looking Forward
Here's the thing: change is the only constant. You can fight it or you can use it as fuel to build something new. I chose to build.
This past year taught me that being forced out of your comfort zone isn't always a setback. Sometimes it's exactly the push you need.
Cheers to the year that has passed and the new one ahead.
