Now
Inspired by the /now page movement, here’s what’s keeping me busy lately.
Written in April 2026 from my home base in the Pacific Northwest.
Designing Experiences (Community Building)
I am partnering with businesses and organizations to move beyond simple “events” and create genuine communities. My focus is on the strategy and design of gatherings, making sure that when people come together, they feel seen, inspired, and part of something bigger.
Some of what I’m working on right now:
- Coworking Tuesdays: I co-launched Coworking Tuesdays with the Bothell/Kenmore Chamber of Commerce, rotating local venues where business owners can work alongside each other and build real relationships. After a few months of running it, I wrote about why the room you’re in matters more than your strategy, and what the research on “talent hubs” actually shows.
- Wine + sound bath collaborations: I just hosted my first sound bath and wine tasting at Sparkman Cellars in Woodinville with Sukrutha Krishnegowda from Earth & Grain. The way the meditation reshaped people’s experience of the wine itself made me want to design more of these.
- CEO Society Seattle/Tacoma: I’m continuing in my role as Director of Public Relations for CEO Society, a membership community for female founders in the greater Seattle and Tacoma area.
- Food Access Advocacy: I’m working with Third Place Commons to raise awareness around food access, helping people find meaningful, sustainable ways to show up for those in need.
Writing and Thinking Out Loud
The biggest shift in my writing this spring has been finally being able to look back at my layoff with some distance. Getting laid off ended up being the best thing that ever happened to me, and nine months out, I finally understand what went wrong in the system I was inside. I wrote a companion piece on the quiet collapse of the “safe path” we were all handed, the one that said: get the degree, climb the ladder, retire safely.
I’ve also been writing about how intentional connection should be part of every business plan, and why our relationships weren’t built for storms in a world of follower counts and unfollow buttons. I’ve also been digging into how we’ve outsourced our intuition to technology and what that costs us in terms of real human connection.
The Great Outdoors
When I’m not designing experiences or writing, I am usually on a mountain or deep in the ocean, scuba diving.
- Current Obsession: Training for my next adventure (likely involving elevation gain).
- Scuba Diving: There’s something grounding about descending into silence, moving slowly, and paying attention to every breath.
- Why: The outdoors is where I find my true cadence.
Connect
I separate my time into two distinct buckets. Pick the one that fits you:
- Business: Want to build a community strategy? Book a work call with me.
- Connection: Just want to swap stories or say hello? Book a networking call.
THE END.
